Measles Cases Have Increased 75-Fold This Year
Concerned authorities and experts have identified six key reasons behind the rising spread of measles among children. They say that the increase in infections is due to gaps in the vaccination program, failure to detect the disease on time, strikes by health workers, suspension of sector programs due to funding shortages, lack of distribution of Vitamin A and deworming medicine, and around 10 percent of children remaining outside vaccination coverage each year.

19 Child Deaths in Dhaka as Measles Cases Spike
A sudden surge in measles infections has been observed across the country. In the current month of March alone, 19 children have died at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in the capital. Doctors say that the outbreak has increased due to delayed vaccination, vaccine shortages, and the government’s booster dose not being administered on time. However, the Health Minister has stated that the government is fully prepared to combat the measles situation.
